Job Description - Student Management Operations & Discipline Support Officer (School Environment)

Contract Duration:

  • Initial Period: 29 June 2026 to 23 October 2026
  • Potential Extension: 01 January 2027 to 29 October 2027 (Subject to performance and school requirements)

About the Role:

We are seeking a firm, empathetic, and highly detail-oriented individual to manage student discipline and support student well-being within a local secondary school environment. Working closely with the school’s Student Management department, you will serve as a frontline mentor to manage behavioral standards, assist at-risk students, and conduct investigations using a constructive, restorative approach.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operations & Discipline: Track and manage student late-coming, execute in-house detention/suspension sessions, and coordinate targeted student pull-out programmes.
  • Safety & Supervision: Perform active patrols across school premises (canteen, basketball courts, fields, and classrooms) during recess, lunch hours, and Co-Curricular Activity (CCA) periods to ensure student safety.
  • Case Management & Investigations: Intervene in behavioral or disciplinary incidents, conduct formal incident investigations, and support students using the Restorative Practices approach.
  • Development Support: Actively support the school's intervention initiatives aimed at guiding the holistic development of at-risk youth.

Job Requirements:

  • Language Proficiency: Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
  • Industry Experience: Candidates with prior experience in enforcement agencies (e.g., SPF, SCDF, auxiliary police, institutional security) or youth work will be given a strong preference.
  • Skill Set: Strong behavioral management capabilities, active listening, case resolution, and competency in de-escalation strategies.
  • Personal Attributes: Highly service-oriented, organized, meticulous with case details, and efficient in meeting operational deadlines.

Working Hours:

  • Mondays: 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM (7 hours, including 1 hour unpaid lunch)
  • Tuesdays & Thursdays: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (8.5 hours, including 1 hour unpaid lunch)
  • Wednesdays & Fridays: 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM (10 hours, including 1 hour unpaid lunch)
  • REST DAYS: No service required on Saturdays, Sundays, gazetted public holidays, school holidays, and Home-Based Learning (HBL) days.
  • Note: Working hours may be adjusted slightly by the school to fit their timetable.
