Role Context & Strategic Importance

The accelerated adoption of cloud platforms, AI, and data-driven business models across Asia Pacific presents a significant opportunity for SAP to expand the strategic relevance and adoption of SAP Business AI, SAP Business Data Cloud (BDC) and SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) and gain new market share in sovereign offerings for public and private sectors. This role bridges global Business AI strategy with regional execution, driving alignment across sales and engineering functions, partners, and customers by driving key initiatives and opportunities to deliver non-linear growth ambitions.

Role Mission (Purpose Statement)

Drive strategic initiatives aligned to the organization, executive advisory, and cross-functional orchestration to accelerate SAP Business AI adoption and market impact across APAC, adhering to defined outcomes for AI, Data & Platform Solution Advisory.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy, Demand Generation & Deal Progression:

  • Create a strategy and plan to deliver non-linear growth ambitions of SAP Business AI business in APAC with specific initiatives for the responsibility area
  • Execution of the strategy and plan together with Market Unit Teams with demand generation, deal progression & adoption to meet the specific KPIs
  • Define engagement methodology & processes to

Customer Engagement & Advisory:

  • Act as a trusted advisor to customers and regional and market unit stakeholders
  • Drive and support executive advisory boards and workshops
  • Speak at high profile customer facing events and inspire customers
  • Build high quality customer facing collaterals

Sales & Deal Support:

  • Support account planning and strategic deal progression.
  • Drive and support targeted activities to progress deal closing.

Scale & Enablement:

  • Enable internal teams and ecosystem partners.
  • Share best practices across markets.

Global Engagement

  • Provide structured feedback to global leadership to increase engagement and focus on APAC where required.

Experience & Skills

Advisory & Strategy Expertise:

  • Demonstrated experience in advisory, strategic planning, or solution strategy roles, ideally within complex enterprise or technology‑driven environments.
  • Proven ability to translate organizational priorities into actionable programs, synthesize diverse stakeholder needs, and guide teams through ambiguity using structured, analytical thinking.

Executive-Level Communication:

  • Exceptional communication skills in English (verbal and written), with the ability to engage confidently and credibly with senior executives, both internally and externally. Other languages are beneficial.
  • Adept at crafting clear, compelling narratives; facilitating strategic discussions; presenting to C‑level audiences; and influencing decision‑making across cross‑functional teams.

Cloud & Enterprise Platform Knowledge:

  • Strong understanding of cloud architectures, enterprise platforms, and modern technology landscapes as well as sovereign cloud requirements. Familiarity with SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS concepts, integration patterns, data management, and emerging technologies such as AI and automation.
  • Ability to articulate platform value, connect technical capabilities to business outcomes, and engage in meaningful discussions with both technical and business stakeholders.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Experience working across geographically dispersed teams, partnering with sales, engineering, product, and customer-facing functions to drive shared outcomes.
  • Comfortable leading initiatives across organizational boundaries and aligning stakeholders around a common vision.
  • Strong network across engineering (LoB and Labs) and sales (APAC MUs) as well as standing relationships with leadership in Germany is beneficial.

Customer & Market Awareness:

  • Ability to operate as a trusted advisor for customers by understanding their strategic priorities, challenges, and transformation goals.
  • Experience supporting or leading customer workshops, executive engagements, and value discussions to influence adoption and strategic positioning.

Leadership & Influence:

  • Demonstrated ability to lead without formal authority, driving alignment, shaping strategy, and orchestrating initiatives at scale.
  • Skilled at managing complex stakeholder landscapes and ensuring clarity, momentum, and measurable progress.

Problem-Solving & Analytical Skills:

  • Strong analytical capabilities with a data-informed approach to identifying opportunities, diagnosing issues, and structuring recommendations.
  • Comfortable navigating complexity and rapidly evolving priorities.

Personal Motivation to work across different cultural contexts is a must and the ability to switch cultural and functional contexts quickly is a plus.
