Backend Development Lead Contract

We are seeking an experienced Backend Development Lead to lead the design, development, and delivery of secure, scalable, and high-performing backend solutions. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing backend architecture, API design, system integrations, and technical delivery while collaborating closely with Frontend Engineers, Solution Architects, DevOps Engineers, and business stakeholders.

Job Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and implementation of backend applications, services, and microservices.
• Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and code reviews to development team members.
• Establish and enforce development standards, best practices, and coding guidelines.
• Drive technical decision-making and ensure alignment with enterprise architecture standards.
• Participate in project planning, estimation, and delivery management activities.
• Design and develop scalable, maintainable, and secure backend solutions.
• Contribute to API contracts, data structures, performance requirements, security constraints, error semantics, and response patterns that impact frontend applications.
• Ensure backend services meet availability, reliability, and performance requirements.
• Develop and optimize RESTful APIs, event-driven services, and system integrations.
• Design database schemas, data models, and backend processing logic.

Job Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
• with 8 years of hands-on backend development experience.
• With 2–3 years of technical leadership or team lead experience.
• Proven experience delivering enterprise-grade applications and integration solutions.
• Excellent understanding of software architecture, distributed systems, and microservices design.
• Knowledge and hands-on industry experience with the Customer’s tech stacks and DevOps pipeline.
• Experience with Agile, Scrum, and DevSecOps practices.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
