Backend Engineer (Node.js)

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend applications using Node.js.
• Build and integrate RESTful APIs with internal and external systems.
• Develop and deploy containerised microservices using Docker and AWS ECS/EKS.
• Manage and optimise relational databases such as PostgreSQL and MySQL.
• Ensure applications comply with IM8, SHIP-HATS 2.0, and secure software development practices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams throughout the software development lifecycle, from development to production support.

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Min. 7 years of working experience developing backend applications using Node.js.
• Hands-on experience with RESTful API development and system integration.
• Experience building and deploying Docker-based microservices on AWS ECS/EKS.
• Experience working with PostgreSQL, MySQL, or other relational databases.
• Familiarity with AWS, CI/CD pipelines, and Git version control.
• Knowledge of IM8, SHIP-HATS 2.0, or experience delivering Singapore Government projects is an advantage.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and debugging skills.
