BI / Report Developer (Jasper)

We are seeking an experienced Jasper Reports Developer to take ownership of the design, development, administration, and ongoing support of our enterprise Jasper Reports reporting platform. This role sits within the APAC IT team and requires someone who can manage the full report lifecycle—from gathering requirements and building complex reports to deploying them securely and supporting production environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and support enterprise reports using Jasper Reports technologies, including Jasper Reports Studio and Jasper Reports Server.

• Manage the end-to-end report lifecycle: design, development, deployment, testing, and production support.

• Deliver reporting solutions that are stable, performant, and aligned with business requirements and governance standards.

• Collaborate closely with application teams, database administrators, and infrastructure teams to diagnose and resolve reporting issues.

• Adhere to platform standards, compliance requirements, and change management processes.

• Participate in testing, deployment, and release activities, ensuring minimal disruption to business users.

• Communicate effectively with business users, support teams, and technical stakeholders—translating technical issues into business language when needed.

Qualifications and Experience

Professional Experience

• Minimum 5 to 8 years of experience in enterprise reporting and business intelligence (BI) development, with significant hands-on exposure to Jasper Reports.

• Strong analytical skills to interpret business reporting requirements and translate them into technical solutions.

• Proven experience supporting production systems with high standards for stability, performance, and availability.

• Ability to manage multiple development and support tasks concurrently without losing attention to detail.

• Clear and concise communication skills—comfortable explaining technical issues to non-technical stakeholders.

• Proficiency in JRXML, expressions, parameters, variables, conditional logic, and layout configuration.

• Experience building drill-down and drill-through reports for summary-to-detail analysis.
• Ability to develop scalable solutions using subreports, datasets, and reusable report templates.
• Strong SQL skills for report querying, including query optimization and handling large data volumes.
• Experience implementing security configurations, including role-based access control (RBAC) and row-level data security via domains and security XML files.
