Business Analyst

GENERAL SUMMARY

We are looking for a Business Analyst who will be responsible for translating business needs into clear functional requirements and system specifications, with particular focus on in-house applications and interface ecosystems. The role supports solution delivery for the Workday Finance program by ensuring requirements quality, integration readiness, and end-to-end traceability from requirement definition through testing and deployment.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

This resource will support data-related workstreams under the guidance of system subject matter experts, contributing to data mapping and the development of interim solutions required for implementation. This resource can also assist with process improvements during the BAU period.

Requirements Gathering & Analysis

• Participates in requirement discussion to analyze business needs, impacts and document business objectives and detailed user requirements.
• Engage business stakeholders early to capture requirements for IT solution design. Build and align the priority of functionalities to be developed within the product accordingly.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders and vendors to define business outcomes and manage requirements through product delivery to ensure these outcomes are achieved.
• Support User Acceptance Test (UAT), including preparation of test plans, test cases, and defects analysis.

Project Delivery (Agile Methodologies)

• Participate in the sprint planning session by providing business goals and priorities.
• Collaborate directly with the business owner, and various cross-functional teams to ensure that business requirements match the overall strategy.
• Partner closely with vendor/developers to ensure quality deliverables.

Application Support & Issue Resolution

• Troubleshoot Application request / issues with Corporate IT teams and vendors
• Support the design, implementation, and optimization of IT systems within our organization.
• Identify and address gaps in current systems to improve efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.
• Facilitate data migrations and implementations while minimizing disruptions.

Process Excellence

• Maintain detailed documentation of configurations, workflows, and governance-related processes.
• Prepare and maintain user guides and operational manuals to assist end-users in understanding system functionalities.

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related discipline
• 5 years of experience working as a Business Analyst, preferably within the insurance industry
• Proficiency with SQL statement and reporting tools (e.g. SSRS and PowerBI)
• Proven experience in business analysis with a focus on accounting systems and Workday Finance
• Knowledge of general insurance product features, basic accounting and operational workflow
• Good understanding of system development life cycle and quality assurance process.
• Ability to interact with internal departments and application vendors effectively.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
