Business Analyst – Onboarding / KYC with AI Exposure

We are looking for an experienced Business Analyst with strong knowledge of client onboarding, KYC, AML, and regulatory compliance processes within the banking and financial services industry. The candidate will work closely with business users, compliance teams, operations, technology teams, and project stakeholders to gather requirements, analyse processes, and support system enhancement initiatives. The role will involve supporting onboarding and KYC-related projects, including process improvements, regulatory changes, workflow enhancements, automation, and AI-enabled transformation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Gather, analyse, and document business requirements from business, compliance, operations, and technology stakeholders.
• Support client onboarding and KYC-related projects, including system enhancements, process improvements, and regulatory change initiatives.
• Analyse existing onboarding and KYC workflows to identify gaps, risks, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities.
• Prepare business requirement documents, functional specifications, user stories, process flows, gap analysis, and test scenarios.
• Work with technology teams to translate business requirements into functional and system specifications.
• Support AI, automation, and digital transformation initiatives related to onboarding, document review, customer due diligence, risk assessment, and workflow optimisation.
• Assist in defining business rules, data requirements, validation logic, exception handling, and approval workflows.
• Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure business, regulatory, compliance, and operational requirements are properly captured and implemented.
• Support UAT activities, including test case preparation, defect tracking, user coordination, and sign-off.
• Maintain proper project documentation and provide regular updates on progress, issues, risks, and dependencies.

Job Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Business Analyst, preferably in banking, financial services, or fintech environments.
• Strong knowledge of client onboarding, KYC, AML, CDD, EDD, sanctions screening, and regulatory compliance processes.
• Experience working on onboarding platforms, workflow systems, case management tools, or compliance technology solutions.
• Good understanding of business process mapping, data flows, system integration, and operational controls.
• Experience in preparing BRD, FRD, user stories, process flows, test scenarios, and UAT documentation.
• Exposure to AI, machine learning, automation, OCR, document intelligence, chatbot, or data analytics initiatives will be an advantage.
• Familiarity with Agile delivery, Jira, Confluence, or similar project tools will be preferred.
• Strong analytical, documentation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced project environment.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience in corporate banking, private banking, wealth management, or institutional client onboarding.
• Knowledge of MAS regulatory requirements, AML/CFT guidelines, or regional KYC regulations.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams, vendors, and technology delivery teams.
• Ability to identify automation and AI-driven improvement opportunities within onboarding and compliance processes.
