Job Description - Business Development Manager

About the Requirements:

  • Strong database of existing clients within the Start up, Venture Capital (VC) and Private Equity (PE) space.
  • Ideally 5 years (minimum of 3 years) of demonstrated proficiency in a role focused on advancing business relations, partnerships, or ecosystem development, involving regular interaction with top-level executives or founders.
  • Prior experience within the startup realm or related environments such as accelerators, incubators, venture capital, or private equity, either in Malaysia or across the broader region.
  • Proficiency in establishing and expanding a robust network within the startup ecosystem, coupled with a keen awareness of the challenges encountered by startups during their growth trajectory.
  • Familiarity with foundational concepts in cloud computing, including Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud Platform, or Microsoft Azure, would be advantageous.
  • Capable of operating both autonomously and collaboratively within a team, with a track record of meeting or surpassing sales objectives.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation abilities in English

About the Role:

Discover and Foster New Business Opportunities:

  • Utilize your extensive network to uncover and engage with potential clients in the startup sphere.
  • Establish and maintain a robust pipeline of potential clients through various avenues such as industry gatherings, online platforms, and networking events.
  • Conduct thorough market research to pinpoint emerging trends and avenues for business expansion.

Forge and Sustain Strong Client Relationships:

  • Cultivate relationships with key decision-makers among targeted startups.
  • Serve as the primary contact point for clients, ensuring their needs are not just met but surpassed.
  • Engage with clients regularly to grasp their evolving requirements and provide tailored cloud solutions.

Develop and Implement Sales Strategies:

  • Devising and executing effective sales strategies and plans to meet revenue objectives.
  • Collaborating with the marketing department to craft compelling value propositions and sales materials.
  • Delivering presentations and product demonstrations to exhibit our AWS and GCP offerings.

Propel Sales and Revenue Growth:

  • Achieve or surpass monthly, quarterly, and yearly sales quotas.
  • Monitor and report on sales performance metrics, adjusting strategies when necessary for optimal outcomes.
  • Close deals through negotiation, ensuring agreements benefit both parties.

Collaborate with Multifaceted Teams:

  • Coordinate closely with technical, marketing, and customer success teams to ensure smooth service provision.
  • Offer insights to product teams regarding customer needs and market trends to guide product enhancement.
  • Engage in team gatherings and contribute to enhancing sales processes and strategies continually.
