Cloud Infrastructure Engineer (Azure)

Job Description:

Manage and maintain Azure infrastructure

• Manage and support Azure cloud infrastructure, tenant administration, system monitoring, patching, and operational maintenance activities.
• Support change requests, application deployments, incident management, service requests, and production operational activities.
• Perform technology refresh activities to ensure systems remain secure, supported, and up to date.
• Ensure monitoring and alerting are implemented for all critical systems, services, and infrastructure resources.
• Provide L1 and L2 operational support, including system monitoring and troubleshooting activities.
• Maintain high system availability, operational stability, and service resilience across the cloud environment.

Problem Solving and Troubleshooting

• Diagnose and resolve cloud infrastructure, system, SFTP, and application-related issues across production and non-production environments.
• Support incident investigation, root cause analysis (RCA), and implementation of preventive actions to reduce recurring issues.
• Analyze system logs, monitoring alerts, and operational events to identify infrastructure issues and performance bottlenecks.
• Troubleshoot operational and application issues to ensure timely restoration of services and system stability.
• Work closely with internal teams and vendors to coordinate issue resolution and technical support activities.

Maintain operational documentation and incident records for tracking, reporting, and continuous improvement purposes.

Cloud Operations Support

• Manage SFTP/file transfer operations and scheduled batch job monitoring to ensure successful, secure, and reliable data exchange.
• Monitor and troubleshoot file transfer processes, batch jobs, and operational workflows to ensure timely processing and issue resolution.
• Coordinate with internal teams, vendors, and external parties for operational support and technical issue resolution.
• Support incident handling and service recovery activities related to file transfer and operational platforms.
• Contribute to automation and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and reduce manual activities.

Maintain operational procedures and documentation for file transfer services and batch processing activities.

Building Automation Workflows

To build and integrate automation workflows where applicable to reduce need for manual actions from engineers

Skills and Knowledge:

• Experience in Microsoft Azure cloud administration
• Knowledge of Windows/Linux server administration
• Experience with SFTP, file transfer platforms, and batch job monitoring
• Familiar with audit/compliance processes and access governance
• Strong troubleshooting and operational support skills
• Able to support after-office hours and critical incidents
• Design and implement end-to-end cloud solutions on Microsoft Azure
• Architect highly available, resilient, and cost-optimized systems
• Strong technical skill sets and hands-on experience, preferably with Microsoft Azure to manage and maintain Azure infrastructure, including compute, storage, and networking
• Automate deployments using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools
• Implement CI/CD pipelines for application and infrastructure delivery
• Monitor system performance, availability, and security using Azure-native tools
• Troubleshoot complex production issues across distributed systems
• Collaborate with development, security, and other relevant teams
• Enforce cloud governance, compliance, and best practices
• Optimize cloud costs and resource utilization
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership
• Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills
• Ability to accurately document SOPs and keep track of documentation
