CyberSecurity Engineer / IT Security Officer

We are seeking a CyberSecurity Engineer to support critical public sector digital products and services.

In this role, you will apply foundational security principles to real-world engineering challenges while executing tasks with increasing independence. You will collaborate closely with security and product teams to support threat modeling, implement security controls, and perform security operations to safeguard high-impact public systems.

Technical Skills & Qualifications

• Degree in Infocomm Security, Computer Science, Computer/Electronics Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent practical experience.

• Foundational knowledge in security architecture, secure system design, threat modeling, and guided vulnerability validation.

• Familiarity with securing CI/CD platforms, Kubernetes environments, cloud-native security monitoring, and identity/secrets management (Zero Trust principles).

• Experience with SIEM platforms, EDR tools, detection logic, and incident response processes.

• Scripting skills (e.g., Python, Bash) for security tooling and workflow automation.

• Exposure to developer-centric tools, including agentic AI workflows and coding assistants.

• OSCP, CISSP, or other relevant cybersecurity certifications.
  

  Key Responsibilities

  Cybersecurity Operations & Compliance

  • Perform routine security reporting and dashboard management, leveraging automation to improve efficiency.

  • Validate security vulnerabilities from various assessment reports and support VAPT finding remediation planning.

  • Refine incident response playbooks and contribute to compliance documentation and evidence collection.

  • Assist in implementing security controls, operational tasks, and periodic IAM role reviews (Least Privilege principle).

  • Participate in threat modeling exercises and identify security requirements based on established policies.

  Security Architecture & Product Engineering

  • Apply security standards and controls across CI/CD pipelines, Kubernetes platforms, and cloud environments.

  • Deliver Proof of Concepts (POCs) or features spanning multiple components, balancing security, performance, and maintainability.

  • Utilize code and cloud security analysis tools to remediate findings and recommend product security enhancements.

  Cyber Defence & Incident Response

  • Support incident response activities, perform alert triage, and assist in investigations across security monitoring platforms.

  • Contribute to refining detection rules, response runbooks, and guided threat-hunting activities to identify indicators of compromise.

  Research & Collaboration

  • Conduct testing of emerging security tools in lab environments and summarize findings for POC initiatives.

  • Collaborate with peers and stakeholders to execute tasks effectively, sharing knowledge and suggesting team improvements.
