Data & AI Analyst

We are seeking a Data & AI Analyst to support data-driven decision-making across our product distribution business. This role will focus on sales analytics, inventory optimization, customer insights, and AI-driven forecasting to improve operational efficiency and commercial performance.

You will work closely with sales, operations, procurement, and management to turn data into actionable insights and implement simple AI-driven solutions suitable for an SME environment.

Key Responsibilities

1. Data Analysis & Reporting

• Collect, clean, and analyze data from: Sales systems (POS, distributor orders) Inventory / warehouse systems, Customer and retailer databases
• Build dashboards and reports (e.g., Excel, Power BI, Google Data Studio)
• Track key metrics

2. Inventory & Demand Planning

• Analyze sales trends to forecast demand by SKU and location
• Optimize stock levels to reduce: Overstock / expiry issues (critical for pet food) Stockouts for high-demand products
• Support purchase planning and replenishment cycles

3. AI & Automation Initiatives

• Apply simple AI / machine learning models for: Demand forecasting Customer segmentation Product recommendation trends
• Automate repetitive reporting processes
• Explore AI tools (e.g., Copilot, ChatGPT, AutoML platforms) for productivity

4. Commercial & Customer Insights

• Analyze: Best-selling vs slow-moving products Channel performance (retail vs grocery vs pet shops) Pricing and promotion effectiveness
• Identify opportunities for: Product bundling Cross-selling (e.g., food + accessories) New market expansion

5. Distribution & Operations Analytics

• Monitor delivery performance and logistics efficiency
• Identify route or distribution inefficiencies
• Analyze order fulfillment accuracy and timing

6. Data Strategy & Governance

• Improve data quality and consistency across systems
• Create standardized data definitions and reporting structures
• Build a central data repository.
