Data & AI Governance Lead - Financial Services

About the role

This role oversees data and AI governance across a leading regional financial services firm.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain data and AI governance frameworks, policies, standards, and guidelines. Keep them current with regulatory requirements and business needs
• Support the department's communication strategy to raise data literacy and data management awareness
• Refine and embed data and AI governance practices to establish clear ownership and accountability
• Guide business units to meet their goals in a compliant, effective, and efficient manner through data and technology
• Design and implement monitoring approaches for data cataloguing, lineage, and usage
• Provide oversight to country offices and subsidiaries to ensure governance practices and standards stay aligned

What we're looking

• Degree from a recognized institution. 8+ years total experience, including 3+ years in data or AI governance, data management, audit, or compliance within insurance or financial services
• Detail-oriented and analytical, with strong problem-solving, project management, and organizational skills
• Solid grasp of data management disciplines, including master/reference data management and data quality management
• Strong change management skills, ideally from organizational transformation program
• Experience operationalizing governance processes is a plus
• Experience in IT Service Management is a plus
• Familiarity with data architecture and current technology landscape (cloud, data warehousing, AI/ML)
• Strong stakeholder management and interpersonal skills
