Data Center Engineer

Job Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day data center operations, including coordination with users, visitors, and subscribers.
• Manage and facilitate visitor access and activities within the data center environment.
• Coordinate with internal project teams to ensure smooth execution of tasks and operational activities.
• Handle operational and production-related issues, ensuring timely resolution.
• Monitor and manage incidents during assigned shifts, ensuring adherence to SLAs.
• Support “hands and feet” operations across multiple data center sites in Singapore, including travel for incident and planned activities.
• Perform installation and decommissioning of IT equipment, including server racking and stacking.
• Carry out structured cabling tasks such as patching, labeling, and cable management.
• Conduct daily server health checks, site walkthroughs, reporting, and queue management (email/remedy systems).
• Ensure data center cleanliness and compliance by keeping contaminants (e.g., cardboard) out of the facility.
• Receive and manage hardware deliveries and maintain inventory/store records.
• Maintain accurate visitor logs and access records.
• Work in a 24/7 shift-based environment with flexibility based on operational requirements.

Job Requirement

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum 2–3 years of experience in Data Center operations.
• Hands-on experience in data center infrastructure environments.
• Strong understanding of 24/7 DC operational processes and procedures.
• Practical experience in server racking & stacking and structured cabling.
• Basic knowledge of data center facilities, environment, and industry standards.
• Ability to troubleshoot hardware and cabling issues effectively.
• Willingness to work in a shift-based, 24/7 operational environment with high availability.
• Strong communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
• Self-motivated and a team-oriented professional with adaptability in a dynamic environment.

Good to have
