Data Engineer & Data Scientist

We are currently looking for a Data Engineer and Data Scientist with experience in GIS Platforms/ Geospatial APIs/ Routing Engines or 2D/3Dmapping Tech:

Data Scientist:

Experience

• The ideal candidate has at least 3–5 years of hands-onexperience in data science or a related field, with a demonstrable track record of delivering machine learning solutions in production.

• Prior experience working with geospatial data and tools is strongly preferred, as is experience in domains involving demographic modelling, urbanplanning, or public sector analytics.

• Familiarity with the Singapore planning context, including URA Master Plan data, HDB housing pipelines, or similar datasets, would be an advantage.

Skills

• The candidate should be proficient in Python and relevant datascience libraries such as scikit-learn, PyTorch, or TensorFlow. Knowledge of geospatial tools and frameworks such as GeoPandas, QGIS, PostGIS, or ArcGIS is a bonus.

• Strong skills in SQL and experience with cloud data platforms (e.g. AWS, GCP, or Azure) are expected.

• The candidate should be familiar with the full ML lifecycle,from data wrangling and feature engineering through to model evaluation, deployment,and monitoring. Candidate should be comfortable with more advanced ML techniques such as ensemble learning, regularisation, agent-basedmodelling, forecasting, etc.

• Beyond technical skills, the role requires strong communication skills to present findings and recommendations clearly to non-technical stakeholders, and the ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment

Data Engineer:

Experience

• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in data engineering, data analytics, or related technical field, with demonstrated experience in designing and implementing data pipelines and analytics solutions

Skills

• Data Platform Technologies: Comprehensive understanding of modern data architecture patterns including Data Lake, Data Warehouse, DataLakehouse, and Data Mesh concepts. Ability to evaluate and recommend appropriate architectural approaches based on business requirements and technical constraints.

• Technical Programming Skills: Proficient in Python programming language with experience in data manipulation libraries (pandas, numpy), data pipeline frameworks, and API development. Strong SQL skills for data querying, transformation, and database management across various database platforms.

• Data Engineering Practices: Solid foundation in data engineering principles including data ingestion, transformation, quality assurance, and pipeline orchestration. Knowledge of data analysis techniques and data management practices including data governance, lineage tracking, and meta data management.

• Cloud and Platform Experience: Knowledge of Databricks and AWS cloud services will be an advantage, including experience with cloud-based data processing, storage solutions, and managed analytics services. Familiarity with infrastructure-as-a-code and DevOps practices for data platforms

• Problem-Solving and Communication: Strong analytical andproblem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex data issues and optimise system performance. Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, and ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.

• Experience with GIS platforms (e.g., ArcGIS), geospatialAPIs, routing engines, or 2D/3D mapping technologies a bonus
