Database Architect (12-month Contract)

Key Responsibilities

• Lead Oracle-to-PostgreSQL database migration and modernization initiatives.
• Define PostgreSQL architecture, including HA/DR, scalability, performance, and security.
• Drive schema conversion, data migration, replication, and validation activities.
• Provide technical guidance to application, migration, and testing teams.
• Lead database consolidation, optimization, and cloud database adoption initiatives.
• Prepare architecture documentation and engage stakeholders on technical decisions.

Requirements

• Minimum 15 years of experience in enterprise database architecture and administration.
• Strong hands-on experience in Oracle-to-PostgreSQL migration projects.
• Expert knowledge of PostgreSQL administration, performance tuning, and optimization.
• Experience managing Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, and IBM DB2 environments.
• Expertise in HA/DR architecture, replication, failover, clustering, backup, and recovery.
• Experience with Oracle GoldenGate, IBM CDC, HVR/Fivetran, or similar replication technologies.
• Experience leading large-scale database modernization or consolidation programs.
• Experience in banking, financial services, logistics, or other large enterprise environments.
• Strong stakeholder management, documentation, and communication skills.

Preferred

• Experience with Azure Database for PostgreSQL, Azure SQL, AWS RDS, or similar cloud database platforms.
• Exposure to database automation, DevOps, or Infrastructure-as-Code practices.
• Relevant PostgreSQL, Oracle, Cloud, or Database certifications.
