Director of Enterprise Platform Engineering

Our client is a major Singapore-based consumer cooperative powers a nation wide network of grocery stores, food courts, convenience outlets, and digital commerce services while balancing commercial goals with a social mission. It is widely recognised for maintaining affordability and playing a stabilising role during periods of rising living costs.

The Director of Enterprise Platform Engineering leads Cloud Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE/RE), and Quality Engineering, overseeing platform strategy, engineering standards, and operational governance across infrastructure, reliability, and quality.

JOBRESPONSIBILITIES

·        Lead and grow the Cloud Engineering, SRE/RE, and Quality Engineering teams.

·        Drive the adoption of AI-native engineering practices across the platform organisation.

·        Own platform standards for reliability, security, quality, observability, and FinOps.

·        Partner with the AI COE to operationalise AgentOps, including agent lifecycle management, observability, evaluation, and safe deployment.

·        Collaborate with Security teams to implement DevSecOps and CNAPP capabilities across the SDLC.

·        Improve platform performance, reliability, quality, and cost efficiency using operational and DORA metrics.

·        Standardise platform engineering practices across subsidiaries, business units, and vendor-managed environments.

JOBREQUIREMENTS

·        Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or related field

·        Strong leadership experience managing platform engineering, cloud, SRE, or large-scale production environments

·        Proven experience leading multiple engineering teams or functions

·        Expertise in AWS/GCP, Kubernetes, networking, Terraform, CI/CD, observability, reliability, DevSecOps, and quality engineering

·        Hands-on experience with tools such as Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, SAST, SCA, container scanning, SBOM, and policy-as-code frameworks

·        Familiarity with AI-native engineering and agentic operating models, including tools such as Claude Code, Codex, Spec Kit, and BMAD

·        Experience in resilience engineering, disaster recovery, chaos testing, feature flagging, progressive delivery, and multi-region failover strategies
