Forward-Deployed Applied AI Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Identify high-impact opportunities across business functions (operations, marketing, supply chain, HR) where AI can drive measurable outcomes
• Design, build, and deploy AI-powered tools — including LLM-based assistants, automation pipelines, demand forecasting models, and customer analytics systems
• Integrate AI capabilities with our existing tech stack including POS, reservation platforms, CRM, and inventory management tools
• Work directly with non-technical stakeholders to gather requirements, co-design solutions, and iterate based on real feedback
• Evaluate and implement appropriate models, APIs, and infrastructure (e.g. OpenAI, Anthropic, open-source LLMs, vector databases)
• Own solutions end-to-end: scoping, prototyping, deployment, monitoring, and documentation
• Build internal tooling and knowledge resources that enable the wider team to adopt and sustain AI capabilities
• Keep current with the AI landscape and proactively propose relevant innovations for the business roadmap

Requirements

Technical Skills (Essential):

• Proficiency in Python and comfort working across the full stack
• Hands-on experience with LLM APIs (e.g. OpenAI, Anthropic Claude), prompt engineering, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), and agent frameworks
• Experience building and shipping applied AI or machine learning systems in production
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and standard software development practices (Git, CI/CD)

Experience:

• Minimum 3 years of software engineering experience, with at least 1–2 years in applied AI or LLM-based systems
• Track record of shipping working solutions quickly in ambiguous or resource-constrained environments

Soft Skills:

• Strong communication skills — able to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders
• Collaborative and adaptable, with comfort working across teams and changing priorities

Preferred (Advantageous):

• Prior experience in F&B, retail, or hospitality technology
• Familiarity with F&B platforms such as Chope, SevenRooms, Lightspeed, or similar
• Experience with workflow automation tools (n8n, Make, Zapier)
• Background in data engineering, analytics engineering, or BI tooling
