Head of IT – Singapore & Malaysia

About the Role

A global leader in logistics is seeking a seasoned Head of IT to lead and unify the technology operations across Singapore and Malaysia. In this strategic leadership role, you will be responsible for driving IT infrastructure, applications, and project delivery, ensuring that technology investments directly support business objectives and enhance operational excellence across the region.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategic Leadership: Spearhead the applications team in delivering end-to-end project lifecycles, from ideation to deployment and support.

• Solution Architecture: Provide deep technical oversight across multiple systems and applications, leveraging expertise across diverse technology domains to guide solution design and integration.

• Stakeholder Engagement: Actively partner with business leaders to understand operational needs, translate them into technology roadmaps, and secure buy-in for key IT initiatives.

• Regional Systems Ownership: Lead the planning, implementation, and continuous improvement of all information systems across the APAC region—including customer-facing platforms, internal operational tools, and general-purpose hardware and software.

• Technical Governance: Review and assess proposed technical solutions, ensuring alignment with architectural standards, scalability, security, and business value.

• Delivery & Documentation: Oversee the creation of technical specifications, coding standards, integration plans, documentation, and user guides, ensuring compliance with agreed frameworks.

• Quality Assurance: Drive System Integration Testing (SIT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to ensure robust, high-quality system releases.

• Operational Support: Serve as the senior escalation point for complex operational issues, providing timely resolution and root-cause analysis.

• Project Oversight: Support project managers in the delivery of large-scale, cross-functional projects, ensuring milestones are met within scope, budget, and timeline.

• Change Management: Ensure that all system changes are properly implemented, tested, and documented to maintain system integrity and performance.

Essential Qualifications & Experience

• Education: Bachelor’s or Professional Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

• Experience: Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience, with a proven track record in managing application support teams across the APAC region.

• Domain Expertise:

  • Strong background in design and solution architecture for contract logistics, with hands-on experience in Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).

  • Proficiency in data and reporting frameworks such as Power BI and Data Lake environments.

• Leadership: Demonstrated experience as an Application Support Manager, with strong people management and stakeholder engagement capabilities.

• Project Management: Proven ability to lead complex projects, with a solid understanding of industry best practices and standards.

• Technical Breadth: Familiarity with RPA, TMS, ESB (Enterprise Service Bus), E-commerce platforms, logistics automation, and integrated supply chain solutions.
