IT Business Analyst

We are now seeking an experienced IT Business Analyst/Project Mgr. to join our team in Singapore. You will collaborate with senior business partners, IT stakeholders, and regional partners to develop business cases, assist in business process design, and ensure that proposed solutions meet our quality and compliance standards—while identifying, piloting, and scaling AI/automation opportunities that improve outcomes safely and responsibly.

What you’ll do:

As an IT Business Analyst, you will excel in the following responsibilities:

• Business Discovery & AI Opportunity Identification: Engage with collaborators to understand and prioritize business needs to drive operational efficiencies, using your specialized knowledge. Proactively identify AI/ML and automation use cases aligned to strategic objectives and ethical AI principles.
• Data- and AI-Driven Solution Design: Translate sophisticated business requirements into clear, actionable analysis, solution designs, and decisions. Communicate impacts, costs, and benefits of new or modified demands, including model performance, data readiness, and change implications to address business risks and issues.
• Innovation Pipeline Contribution: Contribute innovative ideas to projects within your specialization, aligned with AZ IT strategy. Collaborate with AZ IT partners to incubate proofs of value, run rapid experiments, and transition successful pilots into production.
• Value Cases and Benefits Realization: Work closely with Site Leadership Teams, regional/site collaborators, and Business Process Owners to propose and implement solutions that meet agreed outcomes. Ensure solutions align with future strategic needs. Develop and shape cases including ROI, productivity uplift, quality/safety improvements, and benefits tracking for AI-enabled initiatives.
• Architecture, Data, and MLOps Collaboration: Collaborate with IT capability teams—architects, engineers, data scientists—to identify essential capabilities (data platforms, integration patterns, MLOps, observability) required for successful outcomes. Work with Process/Product Owners to improve business process performance and digital maturity.
• Design Workshops & Experimentation: Lead and facilitate design workshops with business and implementation teams to identify functional and technical requirements, label data needs, define guardrails, and agree on successful metrics for AI solutions.
• Analytics and Insights: Capture and analyze information from relevant sources to report data trends and model insights, enabling informed decision-making and continuous improvement. Support A/B testing and iterative optimization.
• Change and Adoption: Use your communication skills to effectively engage collaborators and share knowledge with delivery teams. Support communication plans and organizational change for projects, including AI literacy, responsible use guidelines, and human-in-the-loop operating models.

As a Project Manager, your responsibilities include:

• Planning & Delivery: Develop integrated schedules (milestones, deliverables, resources), manage baselines and change control; coordinate stage gates from discovery to deployment and hyper care, including data onboarding, model validation, and go-live for AI solutions.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Map stakeholders, craft communication plans, deliver clear status reporting tailored to execs and delivery teams; facilitate decision-making and resolve conflicts, ensuring transparency on AI risks, performance, and benefits.
• Scope and Change Control: Maintain a clear, testable scope; run change requests; assess impacts (time/cost/quality), seek approvals, and update plans, including model retraining, drift management, and feature updates.
• Benefits Realization: Define measurable outcomes and KPIs early; track benefits against baseline; adjust plans to protect ROI and document lessons learned. Include AI-specific metrics (adoption, accuracy, precision/recall, automation rates, cycle-time reduction).
• Governance and Compliance: Establish and run project governance routines (steerco, working groups). Ensure adherence to quality, GxP, data privacy, cybersecurity, ethical AI, model governance, audit requirements; maintain proof of compliance and explainability documentation.
• Risk, Issue, and Dependency Management: Build and maintain RAID logs; quantify impact, define response plans, and drive mitigation. Manage dependencies across data sources, model pipelines, and integration layers to protect timelines.
• Budget and Financial Control: Create and track budgets, forecasts, and actuals; implement corrective actions to keep the project within targets, including cloud consumption, AI service costs, and licensing.
• Operational Readiness and Cutover: Lead readiness assessments, cutover planning, and hyper care; coordinate training, support models, handover to operations, and transition to BAU, including MLOps handover, monitoring, and model lifecycle management.
• Data and Reporting: Maintain accurate project metrics and dashboards; provide timely, transparent reporting to governance bodies; use data to inform decisions, leveraging self-service analytics and AI-assisted reporting.
• Methodology and Ways of Working: Apply appropriate delivery approach (Agile, hybrid, or waterfall). Ensure ceremonies/cadence and continuously improve processes with innovation sprints, labs, and Design Thinking practices.
• Security and Privacy by Design: Embed security requirements; conduct risk assessments; ensure data classification and privacy controls from the outset, including PII handling, model security, adversarial robustness, and responsible data use.
• Site and Global Coordination: Align site-level execution with global standards and architectures; manage localization while preserving enterprise consistency and AI platform guardrails.

Essential Skills/Experience:

• Minimum 12 years’ experience of specialized domain expertise and expert knowledge in a biopharmaceutical or pharmaceutical manufacturing enviroment which include but not limited to
• Enterprise Systems (SAP ECC /S4HANA etc)
• Manufacturing Systems (PAS-X , PI Historian, TrackSYS etc) ,
• Multivariate analysis systems (SIMCA Online, SIPAT, Pharma MV etc)
• Lab Systems (LIMS, OneLab, MODA, Empower etc)
• Consistent track record of using Business Analysis & Project Management tools and methods to achieve business change in a fast-paced environment, including AI/automation initiatives.
• Experience navigating complex integrated systems; demonstrate innovative analytical thinking and problem-solving to deliver outstanding results, with exposure to data platforms, APIs, and analytics/ML workflows.
• Strong engagement, communication, and management abilities, including excellent presentation and influencing skills; able to simplify AI concepts, articulate risks/benefits, and drive adoption.
• Prior experience in a regulated environment; familiarity with GxP, data privacy (e.g., GDPR), model governance, and auditability.
• Proficiency in virtual collaboration to lead, shape, and cultivate innovative solutions, including cross-functional AI/innovation squads.
• Experience working with and handling third-party suppliers/vendors, including AI technology providers, cloud platforms, and system integrators.
• PMP or equivalent certification; additional credentials in Agile/SAFe, data/AI (e.g., Azure AI, AWS ML, or equivalent), or Lean Six Sigma are advantageous.

Desirable Skills/Experience:

• Degree in a relevant subject area or equivalent experience in IT Business analysis/Project Management practices
• Experience working within a global organization
• Understanding of the pharmaceutical/Manufacturing industry or domain expertise.
