IT Engineer (Cloud Migration)

Role Overview:
The IT Engineer will play a key role in migrating IT systems from physical/on-premises to a secure government cloud platform based on VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) and VMware Tanzu. Initially, the focus will be on the migration's planning, execution, and validation. Afterward, the role will shift to maintaining, optimizing, and securing the cloud infrastructure, alongside broader IT security responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

·       Deploy and manage VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF), including vSAN, NSX, vCenter, and SDDC Manager.

·       Configure and troubleshoot VMware Tanzu and Kubernetes clusters for application hosting.

·       Automate resource provisioning and application deployments using Aria Automation and GitLab CI.

·       Manage Linux/Windows server environments and web servers like Tomcat, Apache, and IIS.

·       Monitor system health, performance, and resource usage in cloud and container environments.

·       Implement and oversee security hardening practices and security testing (DAST, SAST, PT, SVS).

·       Collaborate with HQ and government CISO teams to address operational issues.

Required Skills & Experience:

·       Hands-on experience with VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF),Tanzu, and Kubernetes.

·       Knowledge of Aria Automation and GitLab CI pipelines.

·       Expertise in administering Linux/Windows servers and webserver platforms.

·       Experience with cloud/container monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana).

·       Solid understanding of IT security, including hardening and testing methodologies.

·       Prior work in high-security government environments(Singapore) and ability to obtain clearance.

·       Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and communication skills (English & Mandarin). We are seeking candidates proficient in Mandarin to effectively communicate with Mandarin-speaking clients.

Preferred Skills:

·       Certifications like CISSP, VCP, CKA/CKAD.

·       Experience in security testing methodologies (DAST, SSAT,PT, etc.).

·       Prior experience with cloud environment deployment and CI/CD pipelines.

This role is hands-on and will require a blend of technical expertise, strong security practices, and collaboration with government teams in high-security environments.
