IT Solution Architect (West)

This role focuses primarily on application architecture and system integration, while also supporting the integration of warehouse automation and IoT technologies. You will work closely with business, IT, and operations teams to build scalable, reliable, and secure systems across warehouse, logistics, and enterprise platforms.

Key Responsibilities

Application Architecture and Development (70%)

• Design and implement supply chain applications such as dashboards, tracking systems, and workflow solutions

• Develop and manage integrations across systems including WMS, ERP (SAP), and other enterprise platforms

• Define and implement API-based architectures to ensure seamless system connectivity

• Lead development using modern technologies such as .NET, Node.js, Python, React, or Angular

• Build and maintain scalable cloud-based solutions on Azure or AWS

• Implement DevOps practices including CI/CD pipelines, containerisation, and deployment automation

• Evaluate low-code platforms (e.g. Power Apps, OutSystems) for rapid solution development

Systems Integration (70%)

• Integrate enterprise applications with operational and logistics systems

• Ensure reliable and secure data exchange between systems

• Work with internal stakeholders and external vendors to deliver integration solutions

Automation and Smart Warehouse (30%)

• Support integration of warehouse technologies such as RFID devices, IoT sensors, and smart lockers

• Collaborate with operations and vendors to connect automation systems with IT applications

• Ensure stable and secure communication between operational technologies and enterprise systems

Stakeholder Management and Leadership

• Work closely with business users, IT teams, and operations stakeholders

• Lead solution design discussions, proof-of-concepts, and vendor evaluations

• Provide technical guidance and support to development teams

Requirements

Core Experience

• Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or related field

• At least 7 years of experience in application development, system integration, or solution architecture

• Strong experience in API design and enterprise system integration

• Hands-on experience with backend development (.NET, Node.js, Java, or Python)

• Experience working with cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS

Technical Skills

• Understanding of modern application architecture (microservices, APIs)

• Experience with databases and data tools (SQL, reporting platforms such as Power BI)

• Exposure to DevOps practices, containerisation, and cloud deployment

Advantageous Experience

• Familiarity with enterprise systems such as WMS, ERP, or SAP

• Experience in supply chain, logistics, or manufacturing environments

• Exposure to warehouse automation, IoT, or RFID technologies

• Familiarity with industrial or automation systems
