Junior Data Engineer

Job Description

We are looking for a Data Engineer with approximately 2 years of experience to develop, maintain, and optimize scalable data pipelines and cloud-based analytics platforms. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in data engineering, ETL/ELT development, cloud data platforms, and modern data technologies, while working closely with cross-functional teams to support analytics and AI-driven initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines to ingest, transform, and deliver data from multiple sources.
• Build and support batch and near real-time ETL/ELT workflows, ensuring data quality, reliability, and performance.
• Develop and optimize SQL and Python-based data transformations for analytics and reporting.
• Manage and enhance modern data platforms, including data lakes, lakehouses, and data warehouses.
• Implement data quality checks, monitoring, logging, and performance optimization.
• Collaborate with data analysts, data scientists, and business stakeholders to understand and deliver data requirements.
• Participate in code reviews, testing, documentation, and CI/CD processes.
• Stay current with modern data engineering practices and emerging AI-enabled data technologies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in Data Engineering or a related role.
• Strong proficiency in Python and SQL.
• Experience designing and developing ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Hands-on experience with one or more cloud data platforms such as Snowflake, Microsoft Fabric, AWS (Glue, Redshift), Azure Data Lake, or Google BigQuery.
• Good understanding of data modeling concepts, including star schema and dimensional modeling.
• Experience with tools such as Airflow, DBT, Spark, or Dask is an advantage.
• Familiarity with Git, CI/CD, and version control practices.
• Exposure to BI tools such as Power BI or Apache Superset.
• Basic knowledge of cloud security, access management, and cost optimization.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.
