Junior Network Engineer

Job Summary

We are seeking a Junior Network Engineer with a background in Cisco technologies to design, maintain, and secure network infrastructure, troubleshoot issues, and collaborate across teams to support business operations and growth.

Responsibilities

• Design, configure, and maintain network infrastructure to ensure high availability, optimal performance, and robust security
• Monitor and analyze network performance to identify vulnerabilities and implement improvements
• Troubleshoot and resolve network issues using monitoring and diagnostic tools
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate network systems with applications
• Plan and execute network maintenance, including software/hardware updates, patches, and security protocols
• Implement and enforce network security policies, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and VPNs
• Develop and update comprehensive network documentation and diagrams
• Participate in on-call rotation to provide network support outside regular business hours

Required competencies and certifications

• Knowledge of Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, and other network devices
• Strong understanding of network protocols such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and OSPF
• Familiarity with network security concepts including VPNs, firewalls, and IDS/IPS
• Experience using network monitoring and troubleshooting tools like Wireshark, SolarWinds, or Cisco Prime
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills
• Willingness to learn new technologies and skills

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
• Cisco certifications (considered a plus)
• Fresh graduate or 1+ years of experience as a Network Engineer
