Job Overview

We are looking for a detail-oriented Software Test Engineer to support software quality assurance across application development and enhancement projects. You will be responsible for designing and executing test scenarios, validating system functionality, identifying defects, and working closely with business and technical teams to ensure high-quality software delivery.

This role is ideal for candidates who enjoy problem-solving, have strong attention to detail, and are passionate about delivering reliable and user-friendly applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain test cases, test scenarios, and other testing documentation based on business requirements, functional specifications, and user stories.
• Create and maintain the Requirement Traceability Matrix (RTM) to ensure complete test coverage.
• Prepare and manage test data using SQL queries and other supporting tools.
• Execute manual testing across functional, system integration, regression, and user acceptance testing phases.
• Perform automation test execution using testing tools where applicable.
• Analyze test outcomes, identify defects, assess business impact, and recommend appropriate resolutions.
• Log, monitor, and track defects using test management and issue tracking tools.
• Prepare daily testing status reports, highlighting progress, issues, risks, and test results.
• Work closely with Business Analysts, Developers, and project teams to clarify requirements and resolve testing issues.
• Support business users during User Acceptance Testing (UAT), including test coordination, issue tracking, and validation.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of testing standards, methodologies, and documentation.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
• At least 1 year of experience in software testing or quality assurance.
• Hands-on experience in manual testing throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Familiarity with test management and defect tracking tools such as JIRA, TestRail, or similar platforms.
• Exposure to automation testing tools such as Selenium, Tosca, or equivalent will be an advantage.
• Basic knowledge of SQL for data validation and test data preparation.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and business stakeholders.
• Familiarity with Agile or Waterfall project methodologies is an added advantage.
