Mobile Engineer (Android – Kotlin) – Government Digital Project

We are looking for an Android Mobile Engineer to develop and enhance a government mobile application serving the Muslim community. You will work within an Agile development squad to deliver secure, high-quality, and user-friendly mobile applications, collaborating closely with product managers, designers, backend engineers, and QA engineers.

Candidates with experience developing citizen-facing mobile applications or government digital services are encouraged to apply.

• Salary Package: Up to $10,500 (basic) + AWS

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain native Android applications using Kotlin.
• Implement new features and enhance existing mobile capabilities.
• Integrate mobile applications with backend APIs and authentication services.
• Collaborate with UX/UI designers to deliver intuitive and accessible user experiences.
• Ensure application performance, security, reliability, and scalability.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code.
• Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, and Agile ceremonies.
• Troubleshoot production issues and support application releases.
• Ensure compliance with government security and accessibility requirements.

Requirements

• Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in Android application development.
• Strong proficiency in Kotlin.
• Experience with Android SDK, Jetpack libraries, Android Studio, and Material Design.
• Experience integrating RESTful APIs and JSON-based services.
• Knowledge of MVVM architecture and modern Android development practices.
• Experience with Git and CI/CD pipelines.
• Familiarity with unit testing and UI testing frameworks.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience delivering government or public sector mobile applications.
• Familiarity with Government Commercial Cloud (GCC), SHIP-HATS, Digital Service Standards (DSS), and IM8 requirements.
• Experience publishing and maintaining applications on Google Play.
• Knowledge of mobile security best practices and accessibility standards.
• Experience working within Agile/Scrum teams.
