Reporting to the Manager of Network Engineering and Operations, this role is a key member of the Infrastructure Technology team, responsible for the design, implementation, and delivery of network infrastructure projects across the global enterprise.
The Network Engineer will work closely with technology vendors, system integrators, managed service providers, and internal IT stakeholders to deliver network transformation, modernization, and infrastructure deployment initiatives. The role will lead technical implementation activities from project initiation through production deployment, ensuring solutions meet business, security, and operational requirements. In addition, the engineer will provide governance and transition support to operational teams following project completion.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the implementation and deployment of network infrastructure projects, including LAN, WAN, SD-WAN, wireless, security, cloud connectivity, and datacenter networking initiatives.
Participate in project planning, solution design reviews, technical workshops, and implementation activities to ensure successful project delivery.
Develop and execute detailed migration, deployment, testing, rollback, and cutover plans for infrastructure changes.
Configure, install, and integrate network technologies including routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, wireless solutions, VPNs, and SD-WAN platforms.
Collaborate with infrastructure, security, cloud, application, and business teams to deliver scalable and secure network solutions.
Work closely with system integrators and technology vendors to manage project implementation, validate deliverables, andensure adherence to technical standards.
Support network modernization initiatives including datacenter transformation, cloud connectivity, SASE adoption, SD-WAN deployments, and network security enhancements.
Conduct proof-of-concepts (POCs), pilot deployments, solution testing, and performance validation activities.
Develop and maintain network architecture documentation, implementation guides, operational handover documentation, and technical standards.
Ensure deployed solutions meet security, compliance, availability, and performance requirements.
Provide technical leadership during project cutovers, major changes, and production go-live activities.
Support root cause analysis andpost-implementation reviews to drive continuous improvement and operationalexcellence.
Facilitate knowledge transfer and transition ofimplemented solutions to operations and managed service teams.
Provide Level 3 escalation support for complexnetwork issues related to newly implemented technologies and solutions.
Qualifications & Requirements
Bachelor degree in Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
Minimum 4–6 years of hands-on experience in network engineering with significant involvement in infrastructure implementation, deployment, and transformation projects.
Proven experience delivering end-to-end network projects, including design validation, implementation, migration, testing, and production cutover activities.
Strong hands-on experience with Cisco technologies, including Nexus, Catalyst, routing and switching platforms, and Cisco or Meraki wireless solutions.
Experience implementing and managing routing protocols such as BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, and related network services.
Hands-on experience with SD-WAN deployment and migration projects.
Experience implementing network security technologies including firewalls, VPNs, SASE, NAC, and secure remote access solutions.
Good understanding of datacentre networking, internet connectivity, cloud networking, and hybrid infrastructure environments.
Experience working with system integrators, managed service providers, and telecommunications vendors during project delivery.
Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and implementation planning skills with the ability to manage technical risks during deployments.
Familiarity with ITIL processes, particularly Change Management, Incident Management, and Service Transition.
Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and documentation skills.
Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP Enterprise, CCNP Security, Meraki, Fortinet, Palo Alto, or SD-WAN certifications will be highly regarded.
