IT Service Support Engineer
As part of a dedicated 24x7 operations team, you will be responsible for maintaining the availability, performance, and integrity of a highly available mission-critical infrastructure. This includes hardware maintenance, preventive and corrective support, software validation, system testing, spare parts management, and ensuring compliance with stringent service level agreements (SLAs).
This role is ideal for engineers who enjoy troubleshooting complex infrastructure environments and are passionate about delivering high service availability within a mission-critical operational environment.
Key Responsibilities
Corrective Maintenance & Incident Response
Perform corrective maintenance activities to restore hardware and software components following system failures.
Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve infrastructure issues to minimise downtime and restore services within defined SLAs.
Monitor and maintain operational metrics including:System AvailabilityMean Time Between Failures (MTBF)Mean Time to Repair (MTTR)System DowntimeHardware failure trends
Maintain accurate maintenance records, software versions, firmware updates, and security patches.
Software Testing & System Validation
Perform software and system validation following bug fixes, upgrades, and patch deployments.
Verify system configurations before production deployment.
Execute functional testing to ensure system stability and reliability.
Preventive Maintenance
Conduct scheduled preventive maintenance activities in accordance with approved maintenance plans and checklists.
Perform system inspections, hardware servicing, calibration, configuration verification, and health checks.
Prepare and submit preventive maintenance reports upon completion.
Spare Parts & Asset Management
Manage spare parts inventory and maintenance equipment stored onsite.
Perform inventory control, issuance, replenishment, and disposal activities.
Conduct serviceability checks on spare equipment and coordinate repairs where necessary.
Monitor hardware lifecycle, including End-of-Life (EOL) and End-of-Support (EOS) planning.
Vendor & Equipment Coordination
Coordinate with external vendors for equipment calibration and maintenance activities.
Ensure calibration schedules are maintained for all maintenance and testing equipment.
Operations Support
Participate in 24x7 shift operations to support business-critical systems.
Assist in root cause investigations and continuous service improvement initiatives.
Support operational documentation and knowledge sharing within the engineering team.
Perform additional operational support activities as assigned.
Requirements
Education
Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related discipline.
Experience
Minimum 1–2 years of experience supporting enterprise IT infrastructure.
Experience supporting one or more of the following:Windows/Linux ServersNetwork InfrastructureFirewallsServer Virtualisation (VMware/Hyper-V)Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS)Identity & Access Management (PIM/PAM)
Experience supporting mission-critical systems with high availability requirements (99.9% uptime or above) is highly desirable.
Familiarity with IT Service Management (ITSM) processes and best practices.

Working Environment
Shift Schedule & Working Arrangements
Engineers will work on a rotating shift pattern of 3 consecutive working days followed by 2 days off, then 2 consecutive working days followed by 3 days off. This rotation ensures continuous operational coverage while providing adequate rest periods.
Working hours and shift assignments will be scheduled according to the project roster and may be adjusted based on operational requirements.
Engineers will be required to participate in an on-call/standby roster as required by project needs. Standby requirements will vary depending on the project phase (e.g. MVP or Expansion) and operational demands.
The frequency, duration, and schedule of standby duties will be communicated in advance whenever possible.
