We are seeking an experienced Database Administrator (DBA) to support the administration, maintenance, and optimisation of mission-critical enterprise database environments. The ideal candidate will ensure database performance, availability, security, and reliability while supporting application development, system enhancements, and production operations.
Working Hours: Mon-Fri
Working Location: Central
Salary Package: Up to $7,500 (basic) + AWS + VB (2-3months)
Responsibilities
Administer, monitor, and maintain enterprise database environments to ensure high availability and optimal performance.
Perform database installation, configuration, upgrades, patching, and capacity planning.
Monitor database health, troubleshoot performance issues, and implement tuning and optimisation strategies.
Manage database backup, recovery, disaster recovery, and business continuity processes.
Support application deployments, database releases, and environment migrations.
Develop and maintain database objects, including tables, views, stored procedures, and scripts.
Collaborate with application developers, infrastructure teams, and business stakeholders to support system enhancements and resolve database-related issues.
Ensure database security, access controls, and compliance with organisational policies and industry best practices.
Support data migration, database refresh activities, and production incident resolution.
Prepare and maintain database documentation, operational procedures, and technical documentation.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
Proven experience as a Database Administrator supporting enterprise applications.
Strong hands-on experience with relational database management systems such as Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or MySQL.
Experience in database performance tuning, query optimisation, backup and recovery, and database security.
Proficiency in SQL and database scripting.
Experience supporting high-availability, disaster recovery, and production database environments.
Familiarity with Linux and/or Windows server administration.
Experience with cloud database services (AWS, Azure, or other cloud platforms) is an advantage.
Experience with database migration, automation, and CI/CD practices is a plus.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
