Quantitative Trader

ALC Technologies SG Pte Ltd is looking for an exceptional Quantitative Trader to join our team. In this role you conduct creative research and impact our trading strategies. You will have the opportunity to work alongside co-founders who are industry experts in the rapidly developing field of cryptocurrencies and digital assets. Responsibilities

1. Trading Strategy & Execution - Develop and manage our token market making trading strategies on centralized exchanges (spot and/or derivatives).Use knowledge of market microstructure—order types, depth, liquidity—to minimize slippage and enhance fill quality.
   Optimise hedging, monitor real-time market conditions and adjust positions to capitalize on short-term opportunities or mitigate evolving risks.
2. Risk & PnL Management - Maintain daily responsibility for PnL, with a clear focus on risk-adjusted returns.Implement risk controls and adhere to established position and stop-loss limits, ensuring compliance with internal frameworks.Work with risk management teams to calibrate margin, leverage, and capital allocation across various strategies and markets.
3. Analytics & Optimization - Leverage data-driven insights—including historical patterns, intraday signals, and volatility indicators—to refine and optimize execution algorithms. Collaborate with quant researchers to backtest hypotheses and integrate new predictive models, factors, or signals into your trading workflows.Conduct post-trade analyses to identify slippage sources or other inefficiencies, iterating quickly to improve execution quality.
4. Collaboration & Communication - Liaise with internal teams (technology, operations) to ensure seamless flow of data, reduce operational risk, and maintain platform stability.Provide feedback to quant researchers on model performance in live trading environments, aligning research priorities with execution needs.

Qualifications

1. Core Trading & Technical Skills - Proven experience in trading crypto with direct PnL responsibility.Knowledge of market microstructure, order types, order routing, and algorithmic execution. Programming proficiency (Python) for scripting, building custom execution tools, and collaborating with quant researchers.Basic options knowledge is a plus
2. Quantitative & Analytical Acumen - Comfort with statistical techniques, data analysis, and risk management methods relevant to high-volume or high-frequency trading. Analytical mindset to interpret large data sets, identify trading signals, and quickly adjust strategies based on market feedback. Familiarity with advanced analytics tools (backtesting frameworks, time-series analysis, etc.) is a plus.
3. Soft Skills & Mindset Ownership & Drive - Demonstrated track record of taking initiative and pushing to maximize trading desk performance.
   
   Adaptability: Ability to work in fast-paced, sometimes volatile crypto markets, making decisions with incomplete information.
   Communication: Capable of articulating trading rationale, risk exposures, and performance drivers to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

The Ideal Candidate

• Prior experience in a quantitative role within a trading environment or experience applying advanced quantitative techniques
• Passion for solving complex and data intensive problems
• Capable of delivering on multiple competing priorities with little supervision
• Strong proficiency in programming languages C++ and/or Python
• Bachelors, Masters or PhD in a technical field from top-tier universities such as Physics, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent
