SAP Finance Solution Architect

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced SAP Finance Solution Architect to lead the architecture, design, and delivery of enterprise SAP Finance solutions within SAP S/4HANA environments. This role is responsible for defining solution architecture, aligning business and technology strategies, and leading large-scale finance transformation initiatives across Financial Accounting, Controlling, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and integrated business processes.

The successful candidate will provide architectural leadership throughout the solution lifecycle, working closely with business stakeholders, project teams, and technical specialists to deliver scalable, secure, and high-performing SAP solutions aligned with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and drive SAP Finance solution architecture aligned with business strategy, enterprise architecture, and industry best practices.

• Analyse current business processes and develop future-state architecture roadmaps for finance transformation initiatives.

• Lead solution design across SAP S/4HANA Finance, ensuring scalability, maintainability, and business value.

• Provide architectural guidance for SAP implementations, upgrades, rollouts, and digital transformation programmes.

• Lead the design and integration of SAP Finance modules including Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Financial Accounting (FI), and Controlling (CO).

• Drive end-to-end Order-to-Cash (O2C) and Procure-to-Pay (P2P) process design, including invoicing, billing, collections, dispute management, vendor management, payments, returns, and credit management.

• Ensure SAP Finance solutions comply with accounting standards, financial regulations, governance requirements, and internal controls.

• Identify opportunities to automate finance processes and improve operational efficiency through SAP innovations and best practices.

• Develop solution architectures that integrate SAP FI with MM, SD, PP, QM, and other enterprise systems.

• Conduct business workshops to gather requirements, define solution approaches, and validate business processes.

• Translate business requirements into functional solution designs and architectural specifications.

• Review and approve functional specifications for Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements, Forms, and Workflow (RICEFW) developments.

• Provide architectural leadership throughout solution design, development, testing, deployment, cutover, and post-go-live support.

• Mentor project teams and provide technical and functional guidance to consultants across finance workstreams.

• Evaluate emerging SAP technologies and recommend solutions that support long-term business objectives.

Required Skills

• Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related discipline.

• Minimum 15 years of SAP consulting experience, including at least 7 years delivering SAP S/4HANA Finance solutions.

• Extensive expertise in SAP Financial Accounting (FI), Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and Controlling (CO).

• Strong knowledge of end-to-end Order-to-Cash (O2C) and Procure-to-Pay (P2P) business processes.

• Experience with Make-to-Order (MTO) and Make-to-Stock (MTS) business processes.

• Strong understanding of customer invoicing, collections, dispute management, credit management, and financial reporting.

• Hands-on experience with SAP Financial Supply Chain Management (FSCM), including Credit Management, Collections Management, and Dispute Management.

• Experience using SAP Fiori applications for finance operations and analytics.

• Knowledge of cash application automation solutions and AI-driven payment matching technologies.

• Experience with SAP Asset Accounting (AA), Flexible Real Estate Management (REFX), Fund Management (FM), and Grant Management.

• Strong knowledge of SAP integration across FI, MM, SD, PP, QM, and other enterprise modules.

• Experience with SAP RISE and cloud-based SAP deployment models.

• Proven experience delivering at least five end-to-end SAP implementation projects, including a minimum of three SAP S/4HANA implementations.

• Experience supporting enterprise environments with at least 30 company codes and/or plants.

• Strong enterprise architecture, solution design, stakeholder management, and business process optimisation skills.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with SAP Central Finance (CFIN).

• Experience supporting Shared Services or Global Business Services (GBS) operating models.

• Knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks and solution governance.

• Experience leading large-scale finance transformation programmes across multinational organisations.

• Familiarity with emerging SAP technologies, intelligent automation, and AI-enabled finance solutions.

Preferred Certifications

• SAP FI Certification.

• SAP S/4HANA Finance Certification.

• Additional SAP architecture or enterprise solution certifications are advantageous.
