Senior Engineer, Microsoft Cloud and Infrastructure

Filtrona is accelerating its global IT transformation to build a secure, scalable, and modern Microsoft ecosystem across manufacturing and managed service environments. We are looking for a Senior Microsoft Cloud & Infrastructure Engineer to take ownership of our Microsoft platform across Azure, Microsoft 365, and on-premise infrastructure. This is a hands-on technical role focused on driving stability, security, and continuous improvement across a complex, hybrid environment.

You will play a key role in ensuring our Microsoft services are high-performing, secure, and compliant, supporting a global manufacturing business where uptime, governance, and resilience are critical.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Microsoft Platform Ownership

• Manage and optimize core Microsoft services across Azure, Microsoft 365, and on-prem infrastructure
• Administer technologies including: Active Directory & Entra ID (Azure AD); Intune (MDM, compliance, device management); Microsoft Defender suite (Endpoint, Identity, Cloud Apps); Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive); Windows Server (2016/2019/2022), DNS, DHCP, Group Policy; SQL Server (backup, recovery, performance tuning)
• Ensure platforms are secure, standardized, and aligned to enterprise governance

2. Security & Compliance

• Implement and enforce Microsoft security controls across hybrid environments
• Monitor and respond to threats using Microsoft 365 Defender and Azure Sentinel
• Drive Zero Trust principles across identity, device, and access layers
• Continuously assessing and enhance E5 security capabilities and posture

3. Cloud & Hybrid Engineering

• Manage and optimize Azure infrastructure (VMs, networking, storage, identity)
• Lead and support cloud migration and modernization initiatives
• Design resilient, secure, and cost-efficient architectures aligned to best practices
• Enforce Azure governance, policies, and cost optimization

4. Service Reliability & Operations

• Ensure high availability and performance of Microsoft platforms
• Collaborate with managed service providers and vendors to drive SLA performance
• Own incident, problem, and change management aligned with ITIL practices
• Maintain clear technical documentation, runbooks, and SOPs

5. Manufacturing Environment Integration

• Support integration between IT systems and manufacturing technologies (MES, SCADA, PLC)
• Ensure secure and reliable connection for shop-floor operations
• Participate in disaster recovery planning and site resilience testing

6. Innovation & Continuous Improvement

• Evaluate and implement new capabilities across the Microsoft ecosystem (e.g. Copilot, Entra governance, Azure Arc)
• Lead PoCs and pilot deployments for emerging technologies
• Drive automation using PowerShell and modern management tools
• Share knowledge and uplift capability across global IT teams

Key Requirements:

• 5–10 years of hands-on experience in Microsoft infrastructure and cloud environments
• Strong expertise across Azure, Microsoft 365, Intune, Entra ID, and Defender
• Proven experience in hybrid environments and enterprise-scale operations
• Experience working with managed service providers and SLA-driven delivery models
• Background in manufacturing or regulated industries is an advantage
• Strong troubleshooting across infrastructure, identity, and cloud platforms
• Solid understanding of hybrid AD, cloud networking, and security architecture
• Experience with SQL Server administration (backup, recovery, performance)
• Proficiency in PowerShell scripting and automation
• Certifications (Preferred): Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104), Microsoft 365 Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert (MS-102), Microsoft Certified: Security, Compliance, and Identity Fundamentals (SC-900), ITIL Foundation
