Senior Full Stack Engineer

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Full Stack Engineer who is equally comfortable building robust backend services and intuitive frontend applications.

You will join a lean, high-performing product team developing regulatory application processing systems. This is a hands-on engineering role for someone with strong technical breadth, high ownership, and the ability to step up as the Second-in-Command (2IC) to the Tech Lead when required.

Beyond software development, you will mentor junior engineers, contribute to technical decisions, and help ensure the team consistently delivers high-quality, scalable solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Full Stack Development

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services, RESTful APIs, integrations, and data pipelines.
• Build and enhance responsive, high-quality frontend applications using modern component-based frameworks.
• Deliver end-to-end features from database design through backend services to polished user interfaces.
• Ensure application performance, reliability, security, and maintainability.

Technical Leadership

• Act as the 2IC to the Tech Lead, providing technical guidance and supporting engineering best practices.
• Step in as the Acting Tech Lead during planned absences by Facilitating daily stand-ups and sprint activities. Removing technical blockers. Supporting team coordination and delivery.
• Mentor junior engineers through coaching, code reviews, and technical guidance.
• Uphold coding standards, software quality, and engineering best practices.

DevOps & Delivery

• Own features throughout the full software development lifecycle, from development to deployment, monitoring, and maintenance.
• Participate in sprint planning, estimation, solution design, and architectural discussions.
• Work with CI/CD pipelines and cloud deployment processes.
• Monitor production systems and proactively resolve technical issues.

Collaboration

• Partner closely with Product Managers, Designers, and cross-functional stakeholders to deliver high-quality user experiences.
• Identify technical risks early and recommend practical solutions.
• Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Requirements

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 7 years of software engineering experience with strong exposure to both backend and frontend development.

Backend Development

• Strong experience designing and developing RESTful APIsServer-side applications Database design and optimization System integration Backend business logic

Frontend Development

• Experience building modern component-based web applications using React or similar frameworks.
• Strong understanding of responsive web design.
• Experience with frontend state management and reusable UI components.

DevOps & Cloud

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms and deployment workflows.
• Understanding of application monitoring, logging, and observability best practices.

Leadership & Collaboration

• Experience leading projects, mentoring engineers, or acting as a technical lead or team lead.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to balance technical excellence with business priorities.
• Collaborative mindset with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.

Preferred Qualifications

Candidates with the following experience will have an advantage:

• Experience using AI-assisted development tools while maintaining full accountability for code quality and correctness.
• Experience working in regulatory, government, or compliance-driven environments.
• Familiarity with secure cloud architectures and cross-environment integrations.
• Strong product mindset with the ability to understand both business objectives and technical implementation.
• Previous experience serving as a Tech Lead or Second-in-Command (2IC) within an engineering team.
