Senior Low-Code Engineer (OutSystems)

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Senior Low-Code Engineer (OutSystems) to lead the design, development and enhancement of enterprise-grade applications using the OutSystems platform. The successful candidate will take technical ownership of complex platform components, mentor junior engineers and drive the successful delivery of secure, scalable and high-performing digital solutions within an Agile environment.

This role requires deep expertise in OutSystems development, legacy system integration, cloud-native architectures, DevSecOps practices and enterprise application delivery. The successful candidate will work closely with Solution Architects, Product Managers and business stakeholders to deliver mission-critical applications while providing technical leadership across the development team.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain complex enterprise applications using the OutSystems platform.
• Take technical ownership of high-risk platform components and legacy system integrations.
• Deliver application features throughout the full Agile sprint lifecycle.
• Diagnose and resolve complex platform issues, escalating architectural decisions only when required.
• Perform code reviews and mentor junior OutSystems engineers to ensure development quality.
• Manage application deployment, release management and performance optimisation.
• Translate solution architecture into detailed technical implementation tasks.
• Design and develop APIs, workflows, microservices and cloud-native integrations.
• Support maintenance, enhancement and optimisation of mission-critical systems.
• Ensure solutions comply with security, authentication, authorisation and governance requirements.
• Participate in DevSecOps implementation, CI/CD pipelines and automated testing.
• Collaborate with business users, Product Owners, vendors and technical teams to deliver high-quality digital solutions.

Job Requirements

Mandatory Skills & Experience

• Minimum 7 years of hands-on OutSystems development experience.
• OutSystems Expert Developer Certification (or higher).
• Strong experience integrating legacy systems with modern enterprise platforms.
• Extensive experience delivering projects using Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Experience across the complete Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Experience building government or public sector digital solutions.
• Strong knowledge of enterprise application architecture and system integration.
• Experience developing and integrating REST APIs, workflows and microservices.
• Experience working with cloud-native architectures and low-code platforms.
• Strong understanding of authentication, authorisation and application security.
• Proven experience mentoring developers and conducting technical code reviews.
• Excellent analytical, communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with GovTech technology stack.
• Extensive experience delivering OutSystems enterprise applications.
• Experience modernising and supporting legacy systems.
• Experience with AWS or Government Commercial Cloud (GCC).
• Experience implementing DevSecOps, CI/CD pipelines and automated testing.
• Experience with containerised applications, serverless technologies and cloud infrastructure.
• Experience supporting case management, document management, workflow, notifications, reporting and payment integration solutions.
• Ability to provide technical leadership and guide development teams.
