The Azure Global Engineering Team is at the centre of this mission, building hyperscale cloud infrastructure around the world to support commercial industry and government adopt cloud for their most complex workloads.

Azure is in search of a skilled and self-driven individual to oversee the Sovereign cloud operation centre in Singapore. In this role, you will collaborate closely with various internal and external partners as well as operational leaders to ensure the operation centre’s availability.

This position offers a unique opportunity to apply your extensive expertise in operation centre activities and technical strategies, contributing to the improvement and long-term sustainability of operation centres.

Responsibilities

Manage the availability of a mission-critical operation centre which requires a comprehensive approach that balances proactive maintenance, contingency planning, technology integration, and effective communication with the aim of minimizing downtime and ensuring uninterrupted operations. The Program manager’s role in overseeing the availability of such facilities encompasses the following critical responsibilities:

• Facility Design and Construction Management: Responsible for project manage the design and construction of new operation centre facilities, involving requirement gathering with stakeholders, budget management and vendor management.
• Manage related CAPEX and OPEX for the critical operation centre and Ensure cost-effective management of resources.
• To develop and manage a program team ensuring facility availability in a critical operations centre within a 24/7/365 operating environment.
• Develop and implement governance structures, processes and policies for Operation centre management. Ensure efficient operation and alignment with organizational objectives.
• Oversee facility management activities including asset management, maintenance, repairs, and security measures. Ensure operational continuity and safety within the SOC environment.
• Responsible for managing SOC physical security operations in collaboration with Physical Security team. This including monitoring, incident response, and threat intelligence collaboration with vendors and partners, to safeguard SOC infrastructure and data assets.
• Facilitate incident and problem management processes related to operation centre, including escalation procedures and root cause analysis. Minimize service disruptions and enhance operational resilience.
• Engage in mandatory audits related to SOC facilities per Tender and Microsoft requirements. Ensure compliance standards are met and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Stakeholder Communication & Documentation: Maintain clear communication with stakeholders and keep detailed records of maintenance activities and downtime incidents.
• Vendor and Budget Management: Manage relationships with vendors, optimize spending, and ensure timely responses for facility maintenance.
• Compliance, Safety, and Technology Integration: Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations, oversee safety protocols, and coordinate technology integration.
• Business Continuity & Infrastructure Planning: Develop and maintain business continuity and disaster recovery plans for the SOC. Coordinate with vendors and internal stakeholders to ensure preparedness for unforeseen events

Qualifications

Required:

• Educational Background: A bachelor's degree in engineering, or a related field is essential. A master’s degree may be preferred.
• Experience: A substantial track record in managing operation centres or mission-critical environments, is essential. Candidates should have a minimum of 5-10 years of relevant experience.
• Strong knowledge in Project/Program Management.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and decision-making skills.

Preferred:

• Experience: Project management experience in design and built of critical operation centre. 5+ years of operating critical operation centre platforms.
• Experience with building management systems (BMS) and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
• Certifications: Relevant certifications like Certified Data Centre Management Professional (CDCMP), Certified Facility Manager (CFM), and Project Management certifications like PMP, Agile are preferred.

Cloud Background check: 
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role.

Microsoft Cloud Background Check: 
This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
