Senior Software Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-quality software applications and enterprise platforms that support business and customer requirements.

• Collaborate with product managers, solution architects, and cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.

• Develop clean, efficient, and maintainable code following established software engineering standards and best practices.

• Participate in system design, code reviews, and technical discussions to ensure solution quality, scalability, and security.

• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve software defects and production issues in a timely manner.

• Contribute to the continuous improvement of software architecture, development processes, and engineering practices.

• Develop and maintain application programming interfaces (APIs), system integrations, and backend services where required.

• Support software deployment activities and collaborate with DevOps teams to ensure reliable release management.

• Prepare and maintain technical documentation for software components and system enhancements.

• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to knowledge sharing across the engineering team.

Required Skills & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline.

• 10-15 years of software development experience in enterprise or commercial software environments.

• Strong proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Java, C#, Python, JavaScript, or similar object-oriented programming languages.

• Experience designing and developing scalable software applications using modern software development frameworks.

• Familiarity with microservices architecture, and system integration principles.

• Experience working with relational databases and database design concepts.

• Good understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC), Agile methodologies, and version control systems.

• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

• Good communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.

Nice to Have

• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.

• Experience with containerisation technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.

• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.

• Experience in financial services, fintech, insurance, or technology organisations.
