Senior Systems and Applications Programmer

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and driven Senior System & Application Programmer to join our team. In this role, you will architect, develop, deliver and maintain complex application, web, and AI-powered systems — and lead a small team to do it on time, every time.

Key Responsibilities

Web Systems

▪     Design, build, and maintain scalable, high-performance web systems and portals

▪     Define and enforce front-end and back-end architecture standards

▪     Ensure cross-browser compatibility, responsiveness, and accessibility compliance

Application Systems

▪     Develop and maintain enterprise-grade application systems (desktop and/or mobile)

▪     Integrate third-party APIs, services, and internal microservices

▪     Ensure application security, data integrity, and performance optimisation

AI-Related Systems

▪     Implement AI/ML features including LLM integration, RAG pipelines, and intelligent automation

▪     Design and maintain data pipelines to support AI model training and inference

▪     Evaluate emerging AI technologies and recommend adoption where applicable

Team Leadership

▪     Lead, mentor, and manage a team of 4 developers

▪     Conduct code reviews, enforce coding standards, and drive continuous improvement

▪     Coordinate task allocation, sprint planning, and progress tracking

Delivery & Timeline Management

▪     Own end-to-end delivery of projects against strict deadlines

▪     Proactively identify risks, blockers, and mitigation strategies

▪     Maintain clear communication with stakeholders on project status and milestones

Requirements

Technical Skills

▪     5+ years of professional experience in full-stack orsystem development

▪     Proficiency in web technologies: HTML5, CSS3,JavaScript/TypeScript, React or Vue

▪     Strong back-end skills: Node.js, Python, Java, orequivalent

▪     Experience with relational and NoSQL databases(PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Redis)

▪     Hands-on experience with AI/ML tools: OpenAI API,LangChain, HuggingFace, or similar

▪     Cloud infrastructure experience: AWS, Azure, or GCP

▪     Proficiency with CI/CD pipelines, Docker, and versioncontrol (Git)

Leadership & Soft Skills

▪     Proven ability to lead small development teams and drive accountability

▪     Excellent problem-solving skills with a results-oriented mindset

▪     Strong communication skills — able to translate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
