Senior Test Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, execute, and maintain comprehensive test strategies, test plans, and test cases for software applications and platforms.

• Design and implement automated and manual testing to ensure software quality, reliability, and performance.

• Collaborate closely with software developers, product managers, and business stakeholders throughout the software development lifecycle.

• Identify, document, prioritise, and track software defects while working with development teams to ensure timely resolution.

• Perform functional, integration, system, regression, and user acceptance testing across multiple releases.

• Develop and maintain automated testing frameworks and continuously improve test coverage and testing efficiency.

• Support performance, security, and reliability testing where required.

• Review business and technical requirements to ensure they are complete, testable, and aligned with quality standards.

• Produce test reports, quality metrics, and release readiness assessments for project stakeholders.

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives and promote quality assurance best practices across engineering teams.

Required Skills & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.

• Over 15 years of experience in software testing or quality assurance, including experience in enterprise applications.

• Strong knowledge of software testing methodologies, defect lifecycle management, and quality assurance processes.

• Experience developing and maintaining automated test scripts using industry-standard automation tools.

• Familiarity with Agile and Scrum software development methodologies.

• Experience using defect tracking and test management tools.

• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

• Good communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to work effectively across technical and business teams.

Nice to Have

• Experience with API, web, mobile, and database testing.

• Experience with automation frameworks such as Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or equivalent technologies.

• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.

• Professional certifications such as ISTQB or equivalent.

• Experience in financial services, fintech, insurance, or technology organisations.
