Software Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and direct the day-to-day operations of IT services.

• Manage outsourced vendors and in-house contractors to meet IT service delivery and operational needs.

• Manage change requests, service requests and production support issues, ensuring service levels are met.

• Review system designs and technical specifications to ensure requirements are captured and aligned with system objectives.

• Review post-production issues, perform root cause analysis and work with vendors to implement preventive measures.

• Plan, execute and support system implementation, software/hardware upgrades and security patching.

• Manage verification and testing of software patches and application upgrades.

• Measure, monitor and continuously improve IT service performance.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or related field.

• Minimum 5–8 years of experience in application production support for Java and .NET applications in Unix and Windows environments.

• Experience in incident management, problem management, release management, root cause analysis and deployment.

• Good understanding of SDLC and experience working with business users, IT teams and external vendors.

• Knowledge of web technologies such as HTML/CSS and JavaScript.

• Experience with .NET Core.

• Familiarity with databases (Oracle, Microsoft SQL) and application servers (IIS, WebSphere Application Server).

• Prior experience working as a Systems Analyst within a Government organization will be an added advantage.

• Good understanding of systems integration within a diverse technology environment.

• Strong communication skills with the ability to influence and gain consensus from multiple stakeholders.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving and information gathering skills.

• Well-organized and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
