Software Engineer (SWIFT)

JOB DESCRIPTION

Our client is looking for an experienced individual with a background in SWIFT-related business domains (standards, payments and securities) and a strong technical knowledge in trading system to join the Reserves and Securities Management Team.  

You will be responsible to provide in-depth expertise in SWIFT-related business/technical flows and provide oversight of SWIFT technical design and oversee the review of the SWIFT infrastructure architecture blue-prints with collaboration from internal cross-functional IT and operations teams to ensure the architectural designs meet all the requirements.

You will be the Point-of-Contact (POC) for the third party’s SWIFT technical team to review and provide guidance on the SWIFT infrastructure implementation planning and co-ordinate with internal teams to ensure resource availability.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the financial services, in particular in a technical business lead role

• Extensive experience with banking operations, back-office business operations or back-office system integration knowledge

• Strong technical background, with good understanding of SWIFT’s products, services and applications, including SWIFT Alliance Gateway, SWIFT Alliance Access, SWIFT WebAccess, SWIFTNet, FIN messaging and ISO 20022 formats

• Strong knowledge of payments and securities messaging and their flows is a must

• Good understanding of SWIFT’s Customer Security Program (CSP) and the proposed controls by SWIFT 

• Identify and pull together the business process owners and the third-party SWIFT team to oversee the modelling of business process

• Review the process using BPM, and coordinating with the third-party SWIFT team to ensure the processes are automated processes, and adopted by business process owners

• Act as the primary contact with the functional team and translate the requirements to the third-party analyst and developers when necessary to automate processes

• Review and develop test cases to ensure the test coverage is comprehensive

• Provide subject matter expertise as required should contentions arise on the requirements between the third party and provide necessary arbitration to achieve a common goal

• Ability to oversee and advise on best practices as guide to the implementation plan

• Familiar with IT Technology Stack in a medium to large-scale implementation

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Must be organized, able to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced working environment and adhere to organisational process and governance

• Background in IT-related Bachelor degree
