Software Test Engineer - Semiconductor

The Software Test Engineer is responsible for validating, testing, and ensuring the quality of software used in complex automated equipment systems. The role focuses on test planning, execution, automation, debugging support, and collaboration with software development teams to ensure reliable and high-performance system behavior.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform timing analysis of software sequences to optimize system reaction time and performance
• Develop test plans and test procedures based on technical specifications
• Design test concepts and document measurement results, test outcomes, and analysis reports
• Collaborate with software engineers to investigate issues and resolve technical problems
• Create detailed bug reports and track issues through to closure
• Analyze technical requirements and system problems, proposing corrective actions and solutions
• Provide technical support for field operations and customer site activities when required
• Participate in software feature design reviews and support major software release validation
• Design and implement automated test scripts using scripting and automation tools
• Maintain and improve automated test frameworks and test environments

Requirements

Education

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Automation Engineering, Mechatronics, Software Engineering, or related discipline
• Good knowledge of controlling and programming mechanical or automated systems
• Proven experience in software testing, troubleshooting, and validation (mandatory)
• Experience in writing technical documentation, test reports, and defect reports
• Familiarity with automation or equipment control systems
• Knowledge of semiconductor equipment or manufacturing environment.
• Experience with test automation using scripting (e.g., Python, C#, or similar tools)
• Exposure to project management.
