System Analyst (Banking Java Payments)

About The Role

We are looking for an innovative System Analyst to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing technical analysis, preparing technical documentation, and bridging business and technical teams to deliver high-quality banking and payment solutions. This role is ideal for professionals with strong experience in Java technologies, system analysis, and the banking domain.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform technical analysis for regional payment solutions projects, including understanding technical architecture, system functions, non-functional requirements, and end-to-end system flows.

• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams on functional and technical solution design throughout project initiation, implementation, and post-implementation support.

• Propose alternative solutions and improvements based on industry standards and best practices.

• Develop and review technical specifications and supporting documentation to ensure solutions meet business and functional requirements.

• Manage vendor deliverables by conducting quality reviews, providing feedback, and facilitating refinements where required.

• Review test plans covering Unit Testing, System Testing, Internal/External Linkage Testing, SIT, UAT, and other testing phases.

• Support testing activities during SIT, UAT, and post-implementation stages.

• Analyse current SDLC processes and recommend continuous improvements through regular reporting to Project Managers and stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.

• 6–7 years of System Analysis and/or Technical Analysis experience within the banking industry.

• Strong knowledge of Java, Spring Framework, Spring Boot, Java libraries, and Oracle Database.

• Hands-on experience preparing functional specifications and technical design specifications.

• Experience working across the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) with medium to large-scale production implementations.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to produce clear and concise technical documentation.

• Strong experience in vendor management.

• Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.

• Experience in project planning and managing small teams is an advantage.

Preferred Skills

• Knowledge of Cross-Border Payments and Reporting Plus (CBPR+) standards and payment messaging.

• Familiarity with MEPS+ (MAS Electronic Payment System) and domestic payment processing.

• Understanding of SWIFT MT and ISO 20022 MX message formats, including message mapping, migration, and payment flows.

• Experience in payment systems, financial messaging, or banking transformation projects involving cross-border and domestic payments.

• Exposure to regulatory and compliance requirements relating to payment messaging standards and financial institutions.
