VP - Payment Programme Manager

We are seeking an experienced Programme Manager to lead strategic payments transformation initiatives for a leading banking institution. In this high-impact role, you will oversee the end-to-end delivery of complex payments programmes, driving modernisation of payment platforms, ensuring regulatory compliance, and managing cross-functional stakeholder relationships across technology, and operation

Roles :

Programme Delivery & Governance

• Lead delivery of technology change in the Payments domain, including prioritisation of demand, scope/budget/timeline management, project governance, and delivery using Group frameworks and tools 

• Drive end-to-end migration of payment flows across customer segments, including Financial Institutions and Correspondent Banking relationships 

• Manage portfolio financials, including cost estimates, budget tracking, and resource capacity planning to achieve agreed outcomes Oversee test and release management, ensuring optimised test plans, quality assurance, and automation uplifts 

  Manage relationships with vendors and third-party service providers

• Take ownership of the programme's risk profile and risk appetite, leading risk-related decisions and representing the programme in governance and risk

  Identify, monitor, and escalate risks and issues, including challenging and influencing to resolve 

Key Requirements

Experience & Domain Knowledge

• 8+ years of experience in Programme/Project Management in the financial services industry, with at least 5 years in the payments domain 

• Proven experience in delivering large-scale payments transformation programmes, including legacy platform replacement, product implementations (e.g., FIS, Finastra, Volante, ACI), or payment gateway/orchestration solutions

  Track record of delivering complex technology projects in the Payments/Cards domain, including Payment Switching, Cash, Cards payment 

• Familiarity with rail-agnostic payment architecture principles, API-led modernisation, and cloud-native payment platforms is highly desirable 

• Programme management certifications (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2, Agile, Lean, Six Sigma) are highly desirable 
  

  Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical mindset.

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to simplify complex topics for senior audiences
