What is the role?

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented AI Research Intern to join our dynamic team. The primary focus of this internship is to support Splore's Business Development and Product teams by conducting focused research on key aspects that will guide our product strategy, with a particular emphasis on AI applications and their impact on the investment management and private equity market. The selected candidate will have the opportunity to contribute valuable insights to enhance Splore’s market positioning and product development process.

Responsibilities:

In this role, you will:

• Research and identify Splore’s potential client types within the investment management and private equity landscape.


• Provide insights into the characteristics and needs of these potential clients.


• Identify and analyse competitors in the investment management and private equity technology space, specifically those leveraging AI in their products and services.


• Conduct product research to identify and evaluate AI-powered tools and features that could enhance Splore's offerings for investment management and private equity clients. This could include:
  
  
  
  • analysing existing product features of competitors,
  
  
  • identifying gaps and opportunities in the market,
  
  
  • researching emerging trends in AI for investment management and private equity.
  
  
  
  


• Contribute to brainstorming sessions and provide input on the development of new product ideas.

Qualifications:

We are looking for an AI Research Intern (Investment Management & Private Equity Focus) with the following:

• Strong analytical and research skills.


• Excellent attention to detail and organisation abilities.


• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.


• Basic understanding of core AI concepts such as:
  
  
  
  • Large Language Models (LLMs): Architecture, training methods (e.g., transformer networks), applications in natural language understanding and generation.
  
  
  • Natural Language Processing: Text analysis, sentiment analysis, entity recognition, question answering, text summarisation.
  
  
  • Prompt Engineering: Techniques for designing effective prompts to elicit desired responses from LLMs.
  
  
  • Familiarity with AI/ML libraries and frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, Hugging Face Transformers) is a plus.
  
  
  
  


• Basic understanding of the private equity/investment fund market: Key players, investment strategies, fund structures, industry terminology.
