Intern - Data Analyst (Operation)

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

• Enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of our OSS operations through automation reports and improvement via AI driven process improvement
• Assisting various functions, including Finance, Engineering, and Production, in automating processes and creating Power BI reports.
• Explore opportunities to leverage AI and machine learning to optimize our processes and drive continuous improvement.

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's degree major in Data science/ Business Analyst preferred or any relevant courses in data analytics
   

Skills

• Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Proficiency in data management tools such as Excel, SQL, and data visualization software.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

   

Working Conditions

• This role is 100% onsite 
• Work Location at II-VI Singapore Pte Ltd-Block 5012, #04-07, TechPlace II, Ang Mo Kio Avenue 5, Singapore 569876
• Working hours from 8.00am to 5.30pm

• Assist in the automation of manual processes across Finance, Engineering, and Production functions.
• Create and maintain Power BI reports to provide actionable insights and support decision-making.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement through the application of AI and machine learning techniques.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand their data needs and requirements.
• Develop and implement data-driven solutions to address business challenges and improve operational efficiency.
• Conduct data analysis and interpret results to identify trends, patterns, and areas for optimization.
• Document and communicate data-related findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
• Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and security throughout the analysis process.
• Support the implementation and adoption of new data-driven initiatives within the organization.
• Stay updated with the latest advancements in data analytics, AI, and machine learning technologies.

• Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Power BI for data analysis and visualization.
• Basic understanding of AI and machine learning concepts and their potential applications.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a logical and systematic approach to data analysis.
• Good communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
• Familiarity with data modeling, database management, and SQL is an advantage.
• Experience with Python, R, or other programming languages for data analysis is desirable.
• Passion for data-driven decision-making and a desire to contribute to process improvement.
