Project Title: Closing Inline Detection Gaps for Critical Defect Failures in Semiconductor Manufacturing Project Description Objective: The project aims to identify and address an existing gap in real-time defect analysis (RDA) where certain defect failures occur without corresponding inline detection. The intern will be part of the project on developing a detection strategy or algorithm to bridge this gap, improving yield and reliability in semiconductor manufacturing. Opportunities for Full-Time Employment: Exposure to advanced semiconductor manufacturing processes and defect analysis systems. Hands-on experience with data analytics, machine learning, and inline inspection tools. Contribution to a high-impact project that directly influences production quality and operational efficiency. Successful completion and demonstrated innovation can lead to consideration for full-time roles in RDA engineering team. Project Scope Analyze historical defect data and inline detection logs to identify patterns of undetected failures. Investigate root causes for detection gaps and propose solutions (e.g., algorithm enhancement, inspection tool choice, sensor calibration, or new inspection logic). Develop and validate a prototype detection model or workflow using real production data. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Process Engineering, Yield Enhancement, Process Integration) to integrate the detection into production systems. Exposure to industry-standard tools for inline inspection and RDA systems. Problem-solving in a high-volume, high-precision manufacturing environment. Deliverables / Impact A documented analysis of detection gaps and proposed solutions. A functional prototype or algorithm for improved inline detection. Quantifiable improvement metrics (e.g., reduction in undetected defects, yield enhancement). Presentation of findings and recommendations to RDA leadership. Skillset Requirements Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Familiarity with data analysis and visualization tools. Understanding of semiconductor manufacturing concepts (preferred but not mandatory). Ability to work independently and collaborate with technical teams, good communication skills.
