12 Months Bank Software Application Manager #BYR - Part-Time

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the support, maintenance, and enhancement of business applications used for trading, pricing, risk management, and post-trade processing.
• Ensure the stability, availability, and performance of trading systems, resolving issues promptly to minimise business impact.
• Work closely with Trading, Sales, Operations, Risk, and Technology teams to understand business requirements and deliver system improvements.
• Support algorithmic trading, execution, and hedging platforms, ensuring efficient and reliable operations.
• Lead system upgrades, automation initiatives, and process improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
• Manage incidents, system changes, and problem resolution in accordance with ITIL best practices.
• Coordinate Business Continuity Planning (BCP), disaster recovery testing, and production support activities.
• Develop monitoring, reporting, and alerting tools to improve system performance and operational visibility.
• Lead technical projects and collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to deliver successful implementations.
• Mentor junior team members and provide technical guidance and knowledge sharing.

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Proven experience supporting trading or capital markets applications within the banking or financial services industry.
• Strong understanding of electronic trading, pricing, market connectivity, and risk management systems.
• Proficiency in Python, SQL, UNIX/Linux, and Shell scripting.
• Knowledge of FIX protocol, messaging platforms (e.g. MQ, EMS, RV), and production support environments.
• Experience with Splunk, incident management, change management, and ITIL processes.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and Business Continuity Planning (BCP).
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively with business and technology stakeholders.
• Experience leading projects or mentoring team members will be an advantage.
