6 Months Contract Accountant (Insurance) ($7-9K) #BYR - Part-Time

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the monthly expense closing, reporting, and management reporting process, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
• Perform expense variance analysis and partner with stakeholders to understand key drivers and trends.
• Prepare financial reports, dashboards, and management presentation materials.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and expense allocation activities.
• Drive process improvements to enhance reporting efficiency and data accuracy.
• Collaborate with Finance, Financial Reporting, and Actuarial teams to ensure consistent reporting and planning.
• Review and provide guidance on work completed by junior team members.
• Maintain reporting documentation, templates, and data methodologies.
• Support ad-hoc financial analysis and projects as required.

Requirements

• 6–10 years of experience in management reporting, financial reporting, FP&A, or a related finance function.
• Experience in the insurance industry is an advantage.
• Strong knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, expense analysis, and management reporting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with Oracle EPM, Power BI, Alteryx, or similar reporting tools is a plus.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with keen attention to detail.
• Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
