A government agency is looking for an Accounts Payable and Fixed Assets Executive to join their finance team on a 12-month contract. You will manage end-to-end AP processing and fixed asset accounting while supporting month-end closing, audit preparation, and process improvement initiatives.
Key responsibilities
Accounts Payable
Review and verify vendor invoices for compliance with internal controls, policies, and procedures
Ensure prompt and accurate invoice processing according to agreed SLAs
Verify expense claims for proper documentation and approval
Liaise with divisions and claimants on any discrepancies
Fixed Assets
Manage fixed asset and operating lease accounting, including capitalisation and disposals
Conduct periodic fixed asset verification exercises
Reconcile fixed asset records
Closing & Audit
Support month-end and year-end closing activities (accruals, reconciliations, reporting, audit schedules)
Prepare audit schedules and support internal and external audits
Projects
Participate in finance automation and process enhancement initiatives
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve issues
What you need
Must Have:
Strong communication and writing skills
Degree or Diploma in Accountancy
Minimum 3 years relevant experience in AP, fixed assets, or general accounting
Good working attitude and team player
Meticulous and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment
Good to have:
Workday experience
Data analytics skills
Experience with finance automation projects
