AVP, Finance Operations - Life Insurance (Contract) - Part-Time

A well-established life insurer is looking for an AVP, Finance Operations (Contract) to own month-end close, balance sheet substantiation, and the finance-IT interface for its distribution, health, and fixed asset lines. You'll be the finance SME bridging Business Analysts, IT, and Operations on system change, Day 2 requests, and process automation.

What you'll do

• Monthly book close aligned to group and local regulatory timelines
• Balance sheet substantiation & reconciliation - driving down aging and resolving breaks
• Finance's seat at the table for interface exceptions between policy admin systems and GL
• Scoping and delivering IT-driven finance projects, from milestone planning to execution
• Commission & distribution accounting, partnering closely with Distribution Support and Performance Management
• EUC controls and ongoing control enhancement

What you bring

• 4–5 years in finance operations, ideally within life insurance
• Track record leading finance transformation or IT-enabled control improvement projects
• Life insurance commission & distribution cost booking experience is a strong plus
• Comfort working across GL and policy admin systems; exposure to Alteryx, Power Builder, or AI-driven process tools is an advantage
• Degree in accounting and finance
