Job Summary
We are seeking a Business Analyst to analyse and document portfolio management and reporting processes. The successful candidate will collaborate with business and technical teams to clarify reporting methodologies, calculation logic, workflows and system behaviour, and translate these into clear, structured and practical business documentation.
Key Responsibilities
Analyse portfolio reporting processes, business rules and calculation methodologies to ensure accuracy, clarity and consistency.
Document calculation methodologies for portfolio reporting metrics, including investment returns.
Compare reporting methodologies and outputs, and investigate and document differences where sufficient information is available.
Identify gaps, inconsistencies and opportunities to improve reporting processes.
Develop methodology papers, business requirements, process documentation and reference materials.
Collaborate with portfolio managers, developers and data teams to validate and document business processes.
Support ad hoc business analysis, reporting and process-improvement projects as required.
Required Qualifications and Competencies
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience in business analysis, finance, information systems or a related field.
Strong analytical, problem-solving and organisational skills.
Ability to understand financial calculations, business processes and system workflows.
Strong Excel skills.
Working knowledge of Python sufficient to understand calculation and data-processing logic; software development experience is not required.
Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, concise and structured business documentation.
Ability to work with business and technical stakeholders and validate information from different sources.
Preferred Qualifications and Experience
Experience in asset management, investment operations, portfolio reporting, financial services or financial systems.
Familiarity with investment-performance concepts such as time-weighted return (TWR), money-weighted return (MWR) or Global Investment Performance Standards (GIPS).
Experience preparing methodology papers, business requirements, process maps or standard operating procedures.
